A few questions about silver dollar fish and pictus catfish? Will silver dollars and pictus catfish be compatible with these fish: 6 scissortail rasboras 4 red platys (more to come, female pregnant) 2 juvenile angelfish 1 pleco Maybe swordtails... I have a 55 gallon tank and I'm looking to spruce it up a bit. The water is perfect, 75 degrees Fahrenheit, I have a filter, heater everything... 1. How many silver dollars to get? 2. How many pictus catfish? 3. WIll the catfish fight with the pleco? 4. What does the catfish eat? 5. What do the silver dollars eat? I'd like to make a few comments before I answer the numbered questions: first, 75* is a bit low for your fish-- I'd strongly suggest you bump it up to at LEAST 78* for the Angels. While they may appear fine, I can assure you they are stressed by it. Also, I wouldn't get Silver Dollars at all, as they will almost certainly go after the Angels' fins-- these are large, nippy fish. 1. None. 2. 4-5 3. Not much, and if they do, the Pleco can defend itself-- the Pictus won't try it more than once or twice. 4. Pictus are mainly carnivores, though a bit of vegetable matter is great too. Mainly sinking pellets like (shrimp pellets, algae wafers, or pellets specifically for bottom feeding carnivores). Also, frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms are great as "treats" a few times a week. 5. Silver Dollars are almost entirely herbivorous, eating pretty much any vegetation, including most aquarium plants, blanched lettuce or spinach, zucchini, cucumber, grapes (sliced), banana slices, watermelon, or other fruits or vegetables fairly low in sugar.

Silver Cat Jewellery

Silver has been known since ancient times and has long been valued as a precious metal, used to make ornaments, jewellery, high-value tableware and utensils and currency coins. Mined right back in 4000BC in Turkey which was then called Anatolia, the main source of silver now is from Peru and Mexico. To the Egyptians, gold was considered to be the perfect metal, and gave the symbol of a circle to it. Since silver was the next best to gold in terms of perfection, it was given a semi-circle for it's symbol. This semi-circle later changed through time and led to a moon symbol, due to the similarity between the shining metal being like the glowing moon light. The Romans gave silver the name of argentum, which is still used today as the international name of the element, from where its chemical symbol of Ag comes from.

Commercial-grade fine silver is at least 99.9% pure silver, and purities greater than 99.999% are available. In silver jewellery a purity of 92.5% is used as above this and the silver jewellery becomes too soft and would not withstand everyday wear. This is where the term 925 silver comes from representing 925 parts silver out of 1000 with the other 7.5% traditionally made from copper. Silver is also mixed with gold to make white gold and is recently becoming more popular.
